Smells like light through trees. Feels like stillness on bare skin. A slow morning held in your palms, a fresh beginning, a moment that belongs only to you.
That is Kyoto Mornings.
Where it begins
There is a particular quality of morning in Kyoto that is difficult to describe without experiencing it. The light arrives softly, filtered through cedar and cypress. The air carries something clean and green and slightly resinous. Time feels different there. Slower, more deliberate. The day has not yet made any demands.
Kyoto Mornings began with that feeling. Not a recreation of a place, but a distillation of a quality of experience. What would it feel like to carry that stillness with you, even in a city that moves as fast as Singapore?
The scent: hinoki and yuzu from Japan
Kyoto Mornings is scented with two essential oils, both sourced from Japan.
Hinoki wood is the heartwood of the Japanese cypress, one of the most revered trees in Japan and a material used for centuries in temple construction and traditional bathhouses. Its essential oil has a warm, grounding quality — softly woody, clean, with a gentle earthiness that settles rather than announces itself. It is the kind of scent that makes a space feel considered.
Yuzu peel brings the counterpoint. Bright, citrusy, and slightly tart, yuzu is unmistakably Japanese and unmistakably uplifting. It opens the blend and keeps it from becoming too heavy. The combination of hinoki's warmth and yuzu's clarity is what gives Kyoto Mornings its particular character: grounded but fresh, calm but awake.
No synthetic fragrance. Everything you smell comes from the plants.
How it feels
Kyoto Mornings hydrates and softens skin without a greasy or sticky feel. It melts effortlessly into damp skin, delivering lasting moisture while leaving a soft, satin finish that feels comfortable to wear in warm, humid weather.
It is formulated for Singapore's climate specifically. Lightweight enough to absorb completely without residue, breathable enough to wear through the day.
Apply to damp skin after showering, warm it between your palms first, and take a moment before you begin. That is the ritual. That is the point.
Why it is limited release
Kyoto Mornings exists in limited quantities because the essential oils that give it its character are not produced at commercial scale. Hinoki and yuzu are sourced from Japan, and the volumes available to a small batch brand like Eartha are finite.
When this batch is gone, we cannot guarantee when it will return. That is not a sales device. It is simply the reality of working with ingredients that cannot be hurried or substituted.
Drops 6 June
Kyoto Mornings is available from 6 June 2026.
If you have been following along with Eartha's drops, you know how quickly the limited releases move. If Kyoto Mornings feels like yours, the best time to decide is before it is gone.
