We have been thinking about the Keeper for a while.
Not the pouch itself, exactly. More the idea behind it. That the things that come alongside a purchase, the tissue, the filler, the extras, tend to get used once and thrown away. And that felt like exactly the kind of thing we didn't want to do.
If something is going to arrive in your order, it should be worth keeping.
Why a pouch
We wanted something that could hold your belongings properly. Something you'd actually reach for when you were packing a bag or tidying a shelf. Something that had a shape and a weight to it, not a drawstring bag or a flat envelope, but something structured enough to stand on its own and soft enough to pack without thinking about it.
The Keeper Pouch is shaped like a small box when it sits flat, wide enough to hold two or three oils side by side, with a gusset at the sides and bottom that lets it open fully and stand upright on a surface. Put it on your bedside shelf and it holds the things you reach for at night. Put it in your bag and the magnetic snap keeps everything closed.
It is the same shape whether it's in your bathroom or your luggage.
Why "Keeper"
A keeper is something worth holding onto.
Not because it's rare or precious, but because it's the right thing in the right place. The word has always meant that: an object, a moment, a person that you don't let go of easily.
We named the pouch Keeper because that's what we wanted it to be. Not something that gets used twice and lives at the back of a drawer. Something that earns its place and stays there.
The keepsake idea runs through the name too. The things worth keeping close. Your oils, your headphones, your small daily essentials. The Keeper Pouch is for whatever belongs in the quieter parts of your day.
What it's made from
100% cotton canvas for both the exterior fabric and internal lining. No synthetic lining, no plastic components. Natural fibre throughout, except the magnetic closure mechanism.
Cotton canvas is not the cheapest material for a pouch. It is heavier than nylon, less shiny than coated fabric, and it doesn't wipe clean the way a synthetic would. But it ages well. It softens with use. And it is made from a material that can be composted at the end of its life rather than going to landfill.
We chose it because it is honest. It looks like what it is.
The colour is Eartha's signature brown, inside and out. Our Eartha logo in cream embroidery, centered on the front. Nothing extra.
The bigger idea
We make things that we want people to keep. That's the whole philosophy behind Eartha: fewer things, better things, made with enough care that you don't want to throw them away.
